8th September 2008: No groundhopping today...

On that mostly sunny Monday, my parents and I went to Weimar - one of Germany’s ‘culture cities’ - for some sightseeing. It was my 19th birthday, despite that I did not plan great celebration.
About half past 12, we arrived in Weimar and then walked down the broad street towards the old town.

After two and a half hours, we had seen the two main churches, the castle, the market square and the town hall - only to name the most important points.
We decided to visit the other two main sights - the park and the concentration camp - the next time; probably in a few months before watching football there in Weimar.
So we went back to the train station, heading towards Gera. After we had a look inside the big church vis-à-vis the Mexican restaurant, we had a large and excellent meal in the aforementioned restaurant.

We went back to Merseburg in the late afternoon, neither being overwhelmed nor disappointed by the cultural capital of Europe of the year 1999.
