As last Saturday, we made our way to Halle. Before we entered any football ground, I had to buy a new camera due to the mechanical damage that occurred without any visible reason the day before. I purchased a Fujifilm Finepix S2000 for 259€. Good price, hopefully good quality. I couldn’t test that camera right after the bargain due to lack of loaded batteries. But my old camera was still able to take pictures, unless I didn’t choose 2.5x or 3.5x zoom.
In Kanena I did not take any picture at all, because the match was called-off due to lack of players. Because of that problem, Kanenaer SV withdrew their team few days before that Saturday. Unfortunately, I did not read the news.
Originally, we wanted to watch a match of Post- und Telekom SV, but their ground beside a frequented and dirty street in an eastern borough of Halle was still closed 90 minutes before the game, so we decided to bike to the other end of Halle, to Kröllwitz in the green and beautiful north of the city, instead of hanging around in front of the office of the German postal service besides which that club PTSV (Post and Telecommunication Sports Club) plays.
The ground in Kröllwitz is beautifully packed between houses, trees and a rocky hill called Donnersberg. That hill is the highest spot of Halle, from which you can overlook the city.
After we ate an excellent Bratwurst, the match of the Stadtliga - TSG Kröllwitz faced Turbine Halle II - started. After six minutes were played, Turbine scored their first goal with a beautiful volley. The second one followed a quarter of an hour later. Then Kröllwitz put up pressure upon Turbine. Consequently, Kröllwitz scored their first goal before the break.
Within fife minutes in the second half, the visiting team added two more goals to their tally, so that the winner of the match seemed to be clear. Kröllwitz scored once more, but two goals and loads of wasted chances were not enough. Furthermore, it was not enough to shoot an opponent’s shoulder and shouting therefore “hand play!” for causing a penalty against Turbine. But it is disturbing to act like that!
Most of the time, the match was fast paced, so watching was interesting. In the table, Kröllwitz remained 10th, Turbine II 6th. It is uncertain, how many of the 16 teams will be relegated to 1. Stadtklasse or promoted to Stadtoberliga.
