Merseburg is a small city in the south of Saxony-Anhalt near Halle/ Saale and Leipzig. Groundhopping is something like collecting sports grounds or stadia: watching as many sporting events - especially football matches - on as many different grounds in as many states of the world as possible. On a trip abroad, places of interest and getting to know the country and its people are even more important than stadiums and football matches. Consequently, this blog is all about sports, sightseeing and journeys.
