Merseburg is a small city in the south of Saxony-Anhalt near Halle/ Saale and Leipzig. Groundhopping is something like collecting sports grounds or stadia: watching as many sporting events - especially football matches - on as many different grounds in as many states of the world as possible. On a trip abroad, places of interest and getting to know the country and its people are even more important than stadiums and football matches.
